What to expect as you plan your future...

College Visits & Career Presentations

for the 2023-2024 Schoolyear

*We are happy to announce that MANY visits will be In-Person!*

The Torrance High School College and Career Center looks forward to hosting College representatives and Career / Military Speakers!

Visits are scheduled at TUTORIAL, LUNCH or AFTER SCHOOL and




All COLLEGE visits/presentations will be scheduled through Naviance

If you are interested in attending a presentation - please sign into your Naviance account for the most Up-to-Date listing of scheduled presentations.

  • Once you have registered for a presentation/ workshop on Naviance:

    • Virtual Visits will have a Meeting Link Provided after registration.

    • Any "In-person" visits will take place in the College & Career Center, Room A106.

College & Career Rep Visits will not take place during instructional time. Lunch and After-school only.

What to focus on NOW...

  • Create your PORTAL for any college that asked you to do so... This is how they will communicate with you from now on!

    • If you have not been asked to create a Portal - continue to check your email often for any updates/requests.​

    • In either case, Portals and emails should be checked at least once a week. If you miss a deadline, you could be forfeiting admission!

  • Start requesting your 7th Semester Transcripts through the COUNSELING OFFICE

    • "Some" colleges ask you for your Senior Year 1st semester final grades as part of their review process for admission.  

  • Complete your Financial Aid Application.

    • See the box below for resources! then watch this video from UC Santa Cruz for a general overview of Financial Aid

    • Some 4-Year Universities have earlier deadlines, AND some private institutions may ask you to complete the CSS Profile.

  • Stay on top of your grades - you still  need to pass all of your classes this semester to graduate/gain acceptance into a college/university. 

  • Lastly, apply to SCHOLARSHIPS...

  • Whether this route is your First Choice, or a Back-up - We encourage ALL THS Students to complete an application in the Fall of Senior Year. 

  • Summer 2024 Application opens October 1st. If you plan to start courses immediately after graduation - start with the Summer 2033 App!
